Katie and Alan Livermore have created TWOFOURTWO by combining their experience and passion for design.

Together they have transformed a historic building and created contemporary boutique apartments offering a luxurious haven away from home.

After teaching for over 25 years Katie was able to reignite her love of design - which began in her early years designing jewellery - through the concept, planning and construction of TWOFOURTWO boutique apartments. Katie has an innate eye for interior design and took on this role with flair when designing and fitting out TWOFOURTWO.

Alan has designed and produced his stunning contemporary furniture for over 30 years through Alan Livermore Design. His experience is reflected in the various roles he has played in the wood work design sector including teaching, guest lecturing, various accolades and recently being invited to be a director on the Board of Studio Woodworkers Australia.

The creation of TWOFOURTWO was the perfect collaboration of Kate and Alan’s skills, passions and dreams. Starting in 2004 the process took six months of planning, six months to completed construction and six months to fit out each boutique apartment.

Alan has crafted beautiful pieces in each apartment including kitchen tables, beds, stairs, wine tables and stunning veneer doors and Katie has complete the feel of each apartment with carefully selected modern furnishings, creating beautifully designed spaces with all the comforts of home.

From its origins as a bakery and bakers residence, Katie and Alan have transformed number 242 Charles Street into one of Launceston’s, and Tasmania’s, most sought after accommodation choices.  The conversion has encapsulated the characteristic of the original building and maintained its integrity, while providing a contemporary, design-driven living experience.
